🦿 An equally inspiring and impressive milestone for Delft start-up Gyromotics. The YES!Delft resident introduced Nova, their unique modular prosthetic foot for children. The prosthetic can 'grow' with the child thanks to the innovative design. Gyromotics developed the prosthetic in close tandem with Sportinnovator and a consortium of partners, of which Delft University of Technology is part.💪🏼 With valuable input from Team Para Atletiek, the faculties of TU Delft | Mechanical Engineering and TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering went on to extensively test materials. The result is a unique, robust new prosthetic design that allows children to both walk and run - going much further than existing prosthetics.💡 Co-founder Guido Hendriks hopes Nova can help foster a mentality change among health professionals and parents alike. "Existing prosthetics often just don't fit well enough. With a better prosthetic, they'll see their child actually really wants to walk, run and climb much more."#tudelftcampus #gyromotics #nova #healthtech #medtech #innovation #prosthetichttps://lnkd.in/ex8Yz2Qp

💪🏼 No entrepreneur pushes innovation solely for the sake of innovation. For novel technology to thrive, industry partners and governments need to embrace it - and employ it too. And that's exactly what recently happened with Delft-based Basilisk Self-Healing Concrete. Their unique healing concrete has been employed by ProRail and Heijmans in a major infrastructural railway project.💧 Basilisk's concrete can help reduce the need for nearly half of the horizontal reinforcement steel regular concrete requires. The key ingredient of this innovation lies inthe addition of bacterial spores that deposit limestone, activating when water infiltrates. The concrete has been extensively tested by Heijmans, with the company stating the initial findings to have been "positive in every respect."👉🏼 Read up on this boundary pushing project, the potential of self-healing concrete in and other innovations within concrete that TU Delft is working on, working towards making the industry 100% circular by 2050: https://lnkd.in/erRMbP69#basilisk #selfhealingconcrete #delft #tudelft #innovation #infrastructure

🟢🟡🔵 Using your roof for solar panels or a sedum roof sounds like a either-or situation? Not really, and start-up Paviljoen III aims to prove it by developing a modular, so-called green-yellow-blue roofing system. Green for plants, yellow for solar panels, and blue for water storage. Their innovation can make solar panels 6% more efficient - and store 20 litres of water per square meter - while sedum roofs help bring temperatures in builings down.Further research is much-needed to optimize this system at TU Delft Campus fieldlab The Green Village. And you can help! Donate and become part of the crowdfunding. 👉 Read up on the plan and donate here: https://edu.nl/jn937#tudelftcampus #thegreenvillage #paviljoenIII, #solar #sedum #waterstorage #whenourforcescombine

🎉 Congratulations Tarnoc! The Delft start-up and former The Green Village field lab resident, founded by Vincent Wijdeveld, has received a donation from the Rabobank Impact Fund to help accelerate the development of their innovative heat pump technology. 🙏🏼 The company is happy and grateful for the donation. "The donation of €25,000 is an important contribution to achieving a good product-market fit. Our Turbine Boiler is a 1-on-1 replacement for traditional boilers. One of our goals is to make installation possible within one day."Read up on Tarnoc here: https://tarnoc.nl/#tarnoc #turbineboiler #thegreenvillage #tudelft #tudelftcampus #startup #donation #rabobank

💧 Did you know there's hydrogen production on TU Delft Campus on a daily basis? The process is taking place at The Green Village field lab, where part of the solar power generated during the day is turned into hydrogen with the Seasonal Storage System, to be used in colder periods.☀️ The project is part of the research program 24/7 Energy Hub and has been realised in close collaboration with Stichting Goeie Grutten. In the current phase, the system provides enough energy (2200 kWh) for a small apartment. The next step is to scale up towards providing the entire Green Village with energy. The third phase is transitioning towards providing (parts) of the TU Delft Campus with stored hydrogen. 👉🏽 Interested? Read up on the Seasonal Storage System here: https://lnkd.in/dHMcR3Vj#thegreenvillage #tudelftcampus #fieldlab #hydrogen #storedhydrogen #seasonalstorage #energystorage
